BVSD Preschool classes offer a priceless opportunity for your child to learn social and emotional skills as well as pre-literacy and pre-math fundamentals to help them be well prepared for kindergarten. And while there is a price for preschool, our rates are highly competitive and the value gained in these early years of learning is beyond compare.

ELIGIBILITY

The perfect age to spark learning.

The BVSD Preschool program offers an exceptional learning opportunity for children ages 3 to 4 years of age, who are not yet age eligible for kindergarten. A child must reach their fifth birthday on or before October 1st to be eligible for kindergarten enrollment. Our program offers four half-day preschool sessions Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (no preschool classes will be held on Wednesday) in 20 of the BVSD elementary schools and follows the BVSD school-year calendar. Additional full day options are also available at the Mapleton Early Childhood Center and in partnership with BVSD's in house PreSchool Enrichment program.

At this time, BVSD preschools are not enrolling children who live outside of the district attendance area. Space is limited and the preschool program is tasked with making sure there are enough seats to serve families who live in district.

For every young learner, the transition from play at home to interacting and learning in a school environment is exciting and unique. Being ready for this transition is more than just being ready to learn to read and write. Young learners also should have the social and emotional skills to make friends, focus, ask questions, interact with teachers and be happy and confident. Our play-based learning is the perfect way to ease young students into school and help them have all the tools they need to be ready learners in kindergarten and beyond.
